COVID-19 Policy & Procedures

Updated Mar 9, 2022

The following list is Clip ‘n Climb Edmonton’s way of mitigating risk as we navigate our Covid-19 response moving into 2022.

  • Climbing sessions must continue to be pre-booked online in advance. (Even prior to the pandemic this was a requirement). Online waivers should also be submitted for each climber in advance of your arrival at the centre. This process helps us to get you climbing on time, it helps us to keep track of participant numbers in advance for capacity and distancing purposes, and it secures your spot for that hour while minimizing the need for physical interaction with point-of-sale equipment and the waiver kiosk upon arrival.

  • * Please DO NOT arrive too early before your booked session (10-15 mins is ideal) *

    * Please exit the facility promptly once your session has ended *

  • We continue to operate at a reduced hourly climber capacity to allow for adequate physical distancing while in the climbing arena. We suggest that climbers under the age of 18 (minor) bring along ONE parent/chaperone per 2 minors to help keep the spectator numbers low & manageable.

  • Face Masks:
All face mask mandates have been removed for Edmonton & Alberta. Wearing a face mask is now considered a personal health decision.

  • Hand hygiene is paramount BEFORE, DURING and AFTER climbing. Climbers are encouraged to use the hand sanitizer provided at the entry, and in the climbing arena. Avoid touching your face (eyes, nose, mouth) while participating. Thorough hand-washing is highly recommended upon completion of the climbing activity.

  • We continue to follow the enhanced cleaning regimen we implemented in response to operating during a pandemic. We also continue to clean our entire facility weekly with our electrostatic fogging machine which dispenses microscopic disinfectant particles to all surfaces, including the climbing walls.

  • We encourage all climbers to bring their own personal water bottle for refreshment after climbing. Please arrive dressed for climbing - wear comfortable clothing and bring your clean/indoor runners.

Please reschedule your booking IF:

  • You have any COVID-19 symptoms, even if mild

  • You have travelled outside Canada within the last 14 days

  • You have come in close contact with someone who has tested positive with COVID-19 within the last 14 days.

Cleaning Protocols

In addition to our routine facility cleaning protocols, there will be increased frequency of sanitation of all commonly touched surfaces and shared equipment throughout the facility and in the climbing arena. The climbing walls are cleaned daily on a continual rotating basis.

Keeping our Facility and Climbing Walls clean

We use a product called Vital Oxide, administered via an electrostatic fogger, and dispersed throughout the entire climbing arena and facility as a whole. This disinfectant is approved by Health Canada (and the EPA), and is a powerful and safe disinfectant effective in the elimination of bacterias, viruses (including coronaviruses), funguses and odours. Coupled with our daily enhanced cleaning regimen, fogging on a weekly basis adds a superior level of added protection.
